Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Congress CM Siddaramaiah Attack On PM Modi Before Karnataka Visit Ask Questions In Press Release

Siddaramaiah Attack On PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is busy campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, is going to visit Karnataka. Earlier, State Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had launched a scathing attack on him. While issuing a press release, he bombarded PM Modi with questions and said that the people of Karnataka have some questions and hopefully the answers to these questions will be in your speech.

He said, “Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, welcome to Karnataka. You neither come to meet us during floods nor during drought, but you never fail to campaign. Despite this, six and a half crore Kannada residents are eagerly waiting for your arrival. “However, they have some important questions and they expect answers in your speech tomorrow.”

Siddaramaiah asked for accounts of 10 years

CM Siddaramaiah asked, “Will you meet their expectations that you will provide assistance during drought, contribute more through tax share and fulfill promises of special assistance? Prime Minister Narendra ModiOur Kannadiga voters trusted you, electing 17 MPs in 2014 and 25 in 2019 from your party. Don’t they deserve to know about the progress made during your tenure in the last 10 years? This time, will you tone down the usual rhetoric of Hindu-Muslim, India-Pakistan, temple-mosque, vegetarian-non-vegetarian and Mughal-Peshwa and instead spend 10 minutes discussing the achievements of your government?”

‘Give account of the promises made in the manifesto’

He further said, “Will you address the allegations against your government regarding unemployment, inflation and corruption? The manifestos issued by political parties at the time of elections are not just a bundle of promises, but are guarantees given to the voters. The elected party is obliged to give an account to the voters of the promises made in the manifesto after five years. As a Chief Minister who has done it consistently with dedication and responsibility, I feel I have the moral right to question your failures. You have neither given an account of the promises made in the manifesto of the last election nor have you issued any new manifesto for this election. “Is this not a clear disregard for the voters and the principles of both our Constitution and democracy?”

‘Union ministers misled the public’

Questioning further, he said, “On the issue of drought relief and injustice in tax distribution, your ministers, Home Minister Amit Shah And Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has clearly misled the public. I personally contacted you on December 19 last year to request release of drought relief. The Home Minister assured to take a decision regarding the relief by holding a high level committee meeting on 23rd December. Despite this, now to say that our government was late in requesting drought relief is basically a lie, isn’t it Prime Minister?”

He further said, “Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman claimed that the Election Commission did not allow the release of drought relief because the Karnataka government had made a late request. But, our government on 16 March Lok Sabha Elections Much before it was announced, a request was submitted to the Central Government on September 23 last year. Prime Minister, is five months really required to review a state government’s request? When you talk about ‘minimum government, maximum governance’, is this the efficiency you are referring to?”

‘If we talk about Kannada language then it is called treason’

Siddaramaiah said, “When we express concern about unfair distribution of taxes in our state, you call it treason. However, weren’t you in the same position when you raised similar concerns about tax disparities as Chief Minister of Gujarat? You openly asked, ‘Is Gujarat a beggar state?’ Addressing inequalities.”

He further said, “As Prime Minister, you are above divisions of caste, religion, language and region. However, if there is a perception among Kannadigas that you oppose Kannada, Kannadigas and Karnataka, are you not responsible for allaying this concern? If we advocate for our land, water and language, you accuse us of treason. If we oppose the imposition of Hindi, request a flag for Kannada, or want opportunities for our youth to take central government exams in their mother tongue, you call it treason. When will you, who claim to be a ‘Vishwa Guru’, actually embody the spirit of a global citizen (Vishwa Manav)?”
